Welcome to Goose Creek Haven, our serene backcountry retreat center. This land is an original 1800s homestead. It is an island of 26 acres that is completlely surrounded by the Payette National Forest, enveloped by unspoiled wilderness and graced by the gentle flow of Goose Creek. Managed by our family and community, Goose Creek Haven serves as a peaceful escape from the hectic modern world.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, where the forest’s rhythms and the calming sounds of the river create an ideal setting for relaxation and reconnection.

Goose Creek Haven (GCH) is a secluded and completely off-grid wilderness retreat center nestled in Idahos mountains and forests near McCall, Idaho.

It can be reached only via forest roads in the summer and by ski, snowshoe, or snowmobile in the winter.

GCH provides an escape from modern conveniences such as roads, utilities, and cell phones, offering a genuine backcountry experience surrounded by friends and unspoiled nature. While most areas lack cell service, WiFi is accessible in one of our buildings for essential communications.

As a backcountry retreat center, we are committed to preserving the natural beauty of the land while ensuring the comfort and safety of our guests. We also focus on conserving our resources by utilizing local and eco-friendly materials and supplies. Additionally, our facilities incorporate technology to enhance efficiency, safety and energy conservation.

Open for year round retreats or rentals. We provide the space and help with logistics for your own personal retreat or to accommodate your group for comfortable wilderness experiences. Inquire to host or participate.

  • This space is for Retreat Organizers to bring groups of 5-20 people into their private nature retreat. We offer a space in nature hidden from the chaos of everyday life. We are miles from main roads and city infrastructure to allow an experience in nature surrounded by pristine wilderness, without feeling uncomfortable or lost. You are immersed in the natural elements of water, earth, air and ether yet still maintain everyday comforts of a cozy place to sleep, good food, and comfortable amenities. You will be transported to a hidden nature retreat yet feel safe and comfortable.

  • If you want to host a retreat getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way. If you are a participant see are list of upcoming retreats under the “Retreats” tab.

  • We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach to help groups immerse themselves in the wilderness gently while feeling safe and comfortable. You can expect solitude, privacy and unspoiled beauty in this space.

  • Even though you feel like you are completely secluded here we are only 5 miles from the mountain town of McCall Idaho. We will help you traverse the last 5 miles on forest roads to the retreat center where you will feel like you have been transported to your own wilderness preserve. Being off-grid does not mean being uncomfortable. We have all the comforts and amenities you need and some you weren't even expecting.

  • We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity. After an initial conversation, we’ll provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs. Our main objective is to help people re-establish their connection to nature and community. If this is the objective of your retreat we will do everything we can to facilitate this at a reasonable cost.

  • Retreats build community and are peaceful, educational, respectful of nature and relaxing. The facilities are designed for groups and to facilitate connection to nature, accessible with miles of hiking trails. There are many private and group spaces as well as open well stocked kitchens, a variety of sleeping options, sauna, cold plunge and food grown on the land. A perfect place for inner growth that is difficult to reach in the city. This place has a magical catalyst that can only be felt. We believe this is due to the unspoiled elements of nature that come together here to bring about a balance that promotes personal growth and the cultivation of serenity.
